This course is intended as an overview for court staff who are new to the responsibility of arranging for court interpreters.
After attending this course, participants will be able to:

* Recognize essential laws and rules of court that govern interpreter services
* List resources and practical tips for locating and selecting qualified interpreters
* Explain what happens before and during a typical interpreter - assisted proceeding
* Differentiate between various credentials available for spoken and sign language interpreters
* Evaluate provisional qualification requirements and apply appropriate procedures
